Endpoint backup and recovery
The backup matters when you need it back.
Plan endpoint and server recovery around the workload, destination and checks that prove a restore is usable.
From a backup status to a recovery check.
A completed job is only a starting point.
The client needs data back. A backup status alone does not establish recoverability.

Illustrative restore workflow
See restore verification move from a failed check to reviewable evidence.
Step through the existing backup-assurance example to evaluate policy, ownership, approval, alternate-target validation, and evidence handoff. This illustrative workflow does not run a restore or prove current endpoint, image, or bare-metal recovery support for a specific environment.

A restore verification needs attention.
- 01SignalCheck failsDone
The affected workload and restore point remain visible.
- 02PolicyImpact classifiedDone
Protection policy, retention, and client priority set the response.
- 03OwnerTicket assignedDone
Service operations receive the workload, evidence, and response target.
- 04ActionRestore testedDone
An approved alternate-target restore validates the recovery path.
- 05ProofAssurance updatedNow
The test result and unresolved exceptions enter the client report.
Prove the restore path before an outage makes the decision for you.
Exercise item, volume, image, and supported bare-metal recovery paths before an incident.
Inside the workflow
The work this connects.
- File-level protection
- Back up selected endpoint and server files with policy-based schedules and retention.
- Image and bare-metal recovery
- Support full-image workflows and verified Windows or Linux recovery media.
- Virtual machine backup
- Protect guest files and full VM state where the connected platform supports it.
- Restore-point verification
- Use integrity checks, samples, mount or boot checks, and drills before relying on a recovery point.
- Regional archival storage
- Keep payloads, indexes, reports, and evidence in the selected Vultr storage region.
- Retention and legal hold
- Coordinate backup lifecycle with customer policy, hold state, and approved deletion.
Try one useful scenario
A recovery drill with acceptance evidence
Fictional drill: select a test restore point and an isolated destination. Obtain overwrite authorization, retrieve the data, check a known file and application behavior, then remove temporary access.
Illustrative evaluation scenario, not a recorded product result. What a useful result must show
Record requested and observed RPO/RTO, start/end times, retrieval waits, key custody, failed objects, reviewer and cleanup sign-off. Integrity checks, boot tests and application checks are separate results.

- Files, images, VM and bare-metal recovery
- SaaS content, metadata and excluded objects
- Export, original and alternate restore destinations
- Keys, overwrite approval, region and retrieval timing
No workload-by-mode production matrix is established by this illustration. Protected-user and retained-storage charges can apply; retrieval/egress treatment and archive timing need written confirmation.
Check public evidence and availability →Scope, availability and evaluation details
Bare-metal and full-device recovery depend on operating system, hardware, drivers, media, storage readiness, and the applicable release.
Archive retrieval can require a queued restore or prewarm before download.
The proposed $99 monthly model includes the target product scope for evaluation, unlimited technicians, unlimited customers, and the first 50 managed devices. Final terms require confirmation. See transparent pricing →

Agent and Restic data path
Endpoint and server protection uses the Dayrook agent with Restic repository controls and selected-region Vultr Archival Object Storage for payloads, indexes, and evidence.
VM and recovery compatibility
VM backup connectors feed the same snapshot and restore ledger; BMR validates target hardware, drivers, storage, networking, authorization, and recovery evidence before completion.
Backup state connects to endpoints, tickets, incidents, reporting, retention, storage, and audit owners.
Questions, answered
Before you choose your next step.
What workloads can Dayrook protect?
Coverage includes Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints, physical servers, supported virtual machines, and separate SaaS workloads.
Does Dayrook support bare-metal recovery?
Yes for supported Windows, Linux, and physical-server workflows, using recovery media bound to one operator-selected verified image.
What about full-device macOS recovery?
macOS file and device recovery follows available platform capabilities. Exact supported behavior must be presented for the applicable release and device.
Where is backup data stored?
Backup payloads and evidence use the selected US or EU Vultr object-storage path with policy-driven encryption, retention, and access.
