Ungated backup estimator

See the pool before the overage.

Every managed device and protected SaaS user contributes its proposed allowance to one account-wide pool. Additional retained storage is priced only after that pool is used.
Worked planning example and measurement limits

250 managed devices and 100 protected SaaS users contribute 5,000 GB. Entering 6,000 GB leaves 1,000 GB above the pool: $40 storage plus $150 SaaS Backup under the proposed policy. With $469 for the platform and devices, the complete monthly estimate is $659. Zero backup extras would still leave the platform charge.

Retained storage is a capacity assumption, not a retention-duration guarantee. Confirm decimal GB measurement, compression, deduplication, retrieval and egress treatment in the offer.

Prepare a recovery drill record

Capacity does not establish workload support, retention fit, restore time, or recoverability. Verify those separately in documentation and restore testing.

Questions, answered

Backup cost estimator: common questions

What does retained backup storage mean here?

Enter the total backup data you expect the account to retain after protection, retention, and change rates are considered.

Does unused allowance carry between customers?

The proposed model pools included storage across the Dayrook account. Confirm customer policy and data-handling boundaries during evaluation.

Does the estimator prove a workload can be restored?

No. Recovery scope and usability should be verified with supported workload documentation and a restore drill.
